Board Certified Registered Art Therapist, Licensed Certified Art Therapist, Professional Counselor Associate
Hello my name is Jill and it is nice to meet you! My pronouns are she/her.
As a clinician, I derive my philosophy of care from a deep value of service, honoring diversity, empowerment, social justice, ethical practice and the importance of interpersonal relationships. My primary goal in the therapeutic process is to assist clients in building the lives they want by promoting their inherent strengths, skills and community supports. My approach to therapy is one of collaboration. I believe that clients are in the most successful position for positive and lasting change when they are effectively reinforced by an ally throughout their growth process. To achieve this transformation, I focus mainly on individual work by utilizing Strengths-Based Narratives, Cognitive-Behavioral modalities, Internal Family Systems techniques and Art Therapy. At all times, I strive to provide client-driven services with an emphasis on encouraging feedback regarding all aspects of my treatment approach. During sessions, I aim to create connection through open communication, warmth, laughter and authenticity.
I received my Master’s Degree in Creative Arts Therapy from Pratt Institute in New York, NY in 2016. My training and experience have been largely in youth, family and adult mental health with a focus on substance use/chemical dependency and trauma work. Additionally, I specialize in working with neurodiverse populations, individuals experiencing anxiety or depression, victims of sexual trauma, individuals who have been involved in the legal system, and those who have experienced houseless-ness. I’ve provided therapeutic support in a variety of settings including the public schools, youth shelters, adult day treatment, and within the community mental health system.
When I need to ground myself I ride my bike, hang with my pup and spend as much time outdoors as possible. I continue to attend trainings and learn new approaches to stay inspired and provide the most individualized treatment I can to each of my clients. No matter what part of life’s spectrum you find yourself on, I will meet you there and hold space for your personal development.
I look forward to working with you!
